Sydney Harbour water mysteriously turns blood-red: ’Not been able to find the source’
The Sydney The port has turned bright red, the reason for which is currently unknown.
The bright red water flowing into Kirribilli’s Milson Park Harbor was spotted on Monday afternoon.

The council is aware of the issue, a spokesman for North Sydney Council said.
“Officers investigated but were unable to locate the source,” the spokesman said.
“We reported this to the EPA.
“The cause of the color is probably plumbers’ paint, which, although alarming in appearance, is safe and non-toxic.”
Here comes the red water just over two months after the same water was bright green.
The “fluorescent green liquid” was spotted around 3pm on September 25.
Firefighters who specialize in hazardous materials have been dispatched “to investigate this large spill or leak of a fluorescent green substance”, NSW Fire and Rescue Service Superintendent Adam Dewberry said at the time.
Authorities then concluded that the staining was likely caused by fluorescein or plumbing dye — but the exact location of the leak was not
Dewberry said it’s unlikely they’ll find the exact cause because there are so many points where water can enter the harbor.
No harm to marine life or property has been identified as a result of the dye.
