Australian breakdancer Rachel Gunn’s legal team has shut down a musical inspired by Raygun to protect “her intellectual property” and ensure “her brand remains strong and respected”.
“While we have the utmost respect for the solid work and effort put into developing the show, we must take the necessary steps to protect Rachel’s creative rights and the integrity of her work,” the breakdancer’s legal and management team said in a statement. .
“This action is not intended to diminish the contributions of others, but rather to ensure that her brand is properly represented and protected in all future endeavors.”
Broadbridge announced the cancellation on social media this morning and said ticket holders would be refunded.
“They were very concerned that people would think Rachel Gunn was connected to the musical,” she said.
“I want to assure everyone that she will not be part of the show.
“She is very welcome to come, I shall be glad for her to see it.”
