Police investigating ‘trivial’ dispute between two men after body found in caravan
The body of a 60-year-old man was found in a commercial storage facility on Morayfield Road, South Caboolture on Sunday, December 1.
A 47-year-old man, believed to be a relative of the deceased, was charged with the murder today.
Police say the 60-year-old man was attacked in the warehouse, then moved into the caravan on Sunday.
Police said the dead man’s partner expected him to come home and when he didn’t she became alarmed before finding his body in the caravan.
The alleged assailant left the area before she arrived.
Police are investigating whether there was an incident between the two men over property at the site.
Detective Inspector David Harbison said there were no persons of interest involved in the case.
“The motive is still under investigation, it’s nothing serious, we know that,” he said.
“It was because of something trivial we think.
“We express our condolences to the entire family of the deceased.
The 47-year-old from Caboolture was arrested about 240 kilometers away in Ballina, NSW, at a motel this morning.
He was charged with one count of murder (domestic violence) and appeared in Ballina Local Court this morning.
He was extradited to Queensland and remanded in custody to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court tomorrow.
