Ellyse Perry blasts new record as Aussies steamroll India in second ODI in Brisbane
A record-breaking Ellyse Perry and Georgia Wall’s maiden international hundred lifted Australia to a comprehensive 122-run victory over India in the second women’s ODI in Brisbane.
Perry hit six sixes – the most by an Australian in a women’s ODI innings – in her 105 from just 75 balls as Australia stormed to an unassailable 2-0 lead on a scorching Sunday at the Allan Border Field.
Earlier, the 21-year-old Queenslander Wall backed up her impressive performance on debut in the series opener to score 101 off just 87 deliveries as Australia piled up an imposing 8-371.

Chasing an unlikely victory target of 372, the tourists showed more fight than when they were bowled out for 100 on Thursday, but were bowled out for 249 to fall short of their target.
Annabelle Sutherland was the pick of the Australian bowlers with 4-38 while Richa Ghosh top scored for India with 54.
Priya Punla also failed to bat for the tourists amid speculation that she had picked up an injury in the field during Australia’s innings, putting her place in doubt for the third and final match of the series in Perth on Wednesday.
After Australia won the toss and elected to bat, Woll and Phoebe Lichfield got the hosts off to a flying start as they posted a 130-run stand before Lichfield fell in the 20th over for 60 off 63 balls.
Things didn’t get any better at the break for the Indians, however, as Woll and Perry shared a second-wicket partnership of 92 matches, broken only when Woll fell shortly after reaching three figures.
Perry and Beth Mooney (56 off 44) then took the score past 300 with a 98-run knock off just 69 balls, but Perry’s dismissal in the 44th over sparked a minor collapse as Australia lost 6-30 in the last few overs.
Stand-in captain Talia McGrath’s unbeaten cameo of 20 from just 12 balls ensured Australia recorded the highest total against India in a women’s ODI of any nation. It was also only the fourth time in 50-over cricket that Australia went past 350 in an innings.
Perry’s knock moved her past Meg Lanning (40) for the most sixes by an Australian in women’s ODIs as she moved to 42 in her career as she crossed the 4,000 career ODI runs mark and became the first female cricketer at the women, who scored 7000 runs and 300 wickets in international cricket.
She also scored the fastest hundred against India in women’s ODIs, reaching the milestone after just 72 deliveries.
There was little to celebrate for the Indians with leg-spinner Priya Mishra conceding 1-88 from her 10 overs – the most expensive figures by an Indian in women’s over-50 cricket.
Quick Saima Thakor (3-62) and debutant Minnu Mani (2-71 off nine) were the only multiple wickets for the tourists.
