Singer Casey Donovan announces engagement to long-time girlfriend Renee Sharples
Casey Donovan has announced that she is engaged to her longtime girlfriend, Renee Sharples.
The singer revealed the big news on Instagram on Fridaysharing a set of photos from Pumphouse Point in Tasmania in which she is snuggled up close to the Sharples, the pair wearing thick down jackets as she flaunts her engagement ring.
“6/21/24 on the strawberry moon of the winter solstice the love of my life asked me if I wanted to live this life together forever.

“The day I met you, home was no longer a place, it became a person and yes you are a gypsy but there is no one else I would rather hitch my wagon to on this beautiful journey called ‘life’ and with that’s what I said yes to!” Donovan wrote.
The ring was created by Sydney jeweller, Mondial by Nadia, Donovan revealed in the post.
Donovan, who will participate in a stage musical version of Sister Actstarting next month in Sydney, first met Sharples in 2020 when they matched on dating app Bumble during the pandemic and the pair enjoyed several Zoom dates together.
Donovan’s friends and fans took to the comments to send their best wishes.
“Congratulations, great,” singer Ricky-Lee wrote.
“Congratulations to you both,” wrote the official account of the musical Juliet.
“How beautiful! Congratulations to you both,” Angela Bishop wrote.
Donovan first announced that she was in a relationship and “in love” in early 2021.
Speaking to Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillis on The Morning Show, she called her partner “the real deal”, adding that the relationship has inspired her to write new music.
The interview came a day after Donovan shared a special tribute to her new love on Valentine’s Day, posting a photo of a bunch of red roses that Sharples gave her.
“She said she was going to get some breakfast stuff and came back with these … she’s kinda cute!” Donovan wrote.
“Thank you @nayray.sharp for all the days we spent together even though we said we wouldn’t get each other anything.”
Donovan said of Woman’s Day in a Interview in July 2021 that she was nervous to start dating again after being “entangled” for many years and convinced she was in a relationship with a man named Campbell – who turned out to have been called out by a friend she calls ” Olga”.
“It’s always nerve-wracking because I have experience with catfish and it’s hard for me to trust people,” she admitted.
But she added that Sharples quickly put her at ease.
“It was so nice to know that our sense of humor was the same,” she said after their first online meeting.
“We couldn’t wipe the smiles off our faces.”
